About me

Are you troubled by anxiety or feel overwhelmed by the challenges of every day life? Do you feel sad or depressed? If you answered yes to any of these, Counselling can help you find ways of taking control back and make changes in your life.

Counselling offers an opportunity to discuss how you feel in a safe environment, working together to find a positive meaning in your life once more. We can discuss how to manage your feelings by learning new coping strategies.

I am a fully trained and qualified Counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I am bound by its ethical framework and code of practice.

My core training is as an integrative therapist and I use a variety of approaches, from relational psychodynamic to a humanistic approach to understand how our history impacts on our every day experience of ourselves and how we relate to others. So working flexibly and adapting ways of working to integrate other theories and ideas which might help inform our work.  I work on the importance of creating a warm, non judgemental relationship where you can feel safe to express and explore your thoughts and feelings.

Getting Started

Finding the right person to talk to can be off-putting.   If I have said anything that resonates with you, give me a call or if you prefer, drop me an email. We can set up a first meeting and if that works for you we can talk about the next steps.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
