Carol Ross - Calmer Water Counselling - Registered MBACP
Sometimes when life gets difficult we may need a little help to find resolution. I aim to offer a safe, and accepting space where you can explore the issues that are causing distress without judgement.
I am a Person-Centred counsellor working in the Ross-shire area. I am a Registered Member of BACP and a Counsellor Member of COSCA and as such follow strict ethical codes for good practice.
Counselling is confidential, however as per BACP and COSCA ethical guidelines, confidentiality does have limitations. There may be occasions when information may have to be taken elsewhere. Possible reasons for breaching confidentiality may be around the following:
* Child Protection
* Risk around harm to yourself or others
* Serious Acts of Crime
* Acts of Terrorism
Where possible, I would always aim to discuss any breaches of confidentiality with a client, prior to reporting on.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a BSc in Mental Health Nursing and a Diploma in Counselling. I have worked in the care sector for over 20 years, mainly in mental health services. I have experience in the voluntary sector working with Homestart, Victim Support and The Terence Higgins Trust.
