About me

Hello, as an experienced counsellor I have seen many people come to a first session feeling daunted. I would try to put them at ease, explain there is no obligation for further sessions, that I have no magic wand (sadly!) and that working with whatever is troubling them may mean looking at uncomfortable feelings with some degree of openness and honesty (and also sometimes humour). I offer the first session at a reduced rate to allow us to meet and see if you want to plan further work together.

Whether you want some short term support to deal with a difficult situation or longer term therapy to come to terms with your life history I would be happy to work with you. I work in an ‘integrative’ way which means I may suggest to you looking at CBT, mindfulness, NLP coaching and/or using creative methods to gain insight into thought patterns and behaviours which may be detrimental to you. As everybody is unique there is no set plan in place, I am guided by what your hope is in coming to counselling, what do you want to change, how would you like to be different in your life. So I would hope to help you understand your difficulties better and to find some solutions to your problems.

You are most welcome to get in touch either by email or phone if you have any questions or you would like to book that first session.

'She listens, she believes me and those are two very big things for me. She suggests achievable ideas that may help me, some of them I use very frequently. She gives me a lot of encouragement to keep going. More than anything I trust her with anything such is her acceptance of me'
