About me

Carol offers 1-2-1 counselling either face-to-face or over the telephone. She is very experienced with both adults and children/adolescents. Carol works with individuals, couples and families.

Carol works from home in Tarleton and out of premises in Southport.Can also make home visits offering a confidential and non-judgemental service to all clients. Her belief is very much that each client brings an individual and unique story to the counselling room.

Carol has a team of counsellors working in Cambridgeshire offering private practice in addition to working in schools, colleges, Cambridge university and Embrace. The team consists of both genders, range of ages and specialisms in different areas of expertise. The team has experience in addictions, mental health conditions, eating disorders and body image, inferiority complex, procrastination, sexual abuse, domestic violence in addition to those listed above. Following the success of JHD in the East of England the company has now launched in Lancashire and Merseyside. Qualified and experienced therapists with a range of specialists to match the right counsellor to each client.

Carol is a Senior Accredited Counsellor qualifying in 2007 with 12 years experience. In addition to working in private practice Carol has held the following roles:

school counsellor in numerous primary and secondary schools

senior counsellor for a college of further education

guidance and support manager for a secondary school

Carol relocated to the North West in Dec 2016 but still manages her counselling company JHD Counselling services Ltd based in Cambridge. JHD has a team of 25 trainee and qualified counsellors working in schools, colleges, Cambridge university, Embrace child victims of crime and private practice. Carol supervises all her counsellors in the team. There is now a JHD counselling service in the Northwest.

In addition to the counselling organisation JHD also has its own training centre offering introduction to Counselling skills, level 2 certificate in Counselling, level 3 certificate in Counselling and level 4 diploma in counselling. Carol is the senior tutor and IV for the training centre.
