I am a warm and committed professional psychotherapist and supervisor with over 25 years’ experience. I see therapy as an opportunity to explore distressing feelings and situations in a supportive, respectful and confidential setting. My role is to pay careful attention to you and your experiences enabling you to feel heard and understood. Together, we can come to a clearer understanding of the nature of your distress and its underlying causes. As individuals, we are not always fully aware of our unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour some of which may have been established in early life. By bringing these into our conscious mind we can develop fresh understanding about ourselves and our relationships. This new insight enables change to occur allowing us to move forwards.
Many clients say they feel happier, more in control of their lives and that they have better relationships as a result of therapy. Of course, there are things in life we cannot control but we may be able to manage our feelings about them in a more helpful way.
I have experience in a wide range of issues including:
abuse, anger, anxiety, depression, bereavement, lack of confidence, relationships, self-image, sexuality, stress, workplace issues.
You do not need to have an identified reason to seek therapy. Sometimes people know that that they just don’t “feel right” or that they are somehow not achieving their full potential. We can explore these feelings in therapy.
