Profile
My name is Cairine and I am a well-qualified therapist with 19 years experience. I am fortunate in that my original enthusiasm for the job is as strong as ever and I consider myself lucky and privileged to be in this profession.
I am thoroughly committed to the work that I do and to the people I work with. My aim is to provide a private, safe and relaxed setting in which people feel able to talk freely. Amongst other things counselling/ psychotherapy sessions provide an opportunity to
- talk through problems and worries
- offload upsetting thoughts and feelings
- come to terms with upsetting/ traumatic experiences
- adjust to big changes
- identify unhelpful behaviours and learn more constructive ones
- develop coping strategies to avoid recurrence in future
I welcome enquiries from people who are struggling to cope with difficult life events such as bereavement, relationship breakdown, illness, employment issues etc and also with people who may have more long-standing problems related to childhood events/trauma. I work with those who want a small number of sessions and also with those who want a longer term arrangement. I work with individuals and couples.
I am passionate about providing a service which reflects standards of excellence and am thoroughly committed to the highest quality of ethical practice. To this end I conscientiously address my ongoing need for professional development, clinical supervision and personal development in accordance with the guidelines of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
