Profile
Want things to be better? Read on: I am BACP accredited; providing high quality, brief, effective counselling for individuals and couples.
FREE 15 min. Initial phone consultation.
Great Value: A complete course of therapy for UNDER £200!
No matter what the problem, solution focused conversations can help.
I have extensive experience of working with addictions; couples; separation and divorce; anxiety; depression; anger; loss; low self esteem and most other problems.
This is a refreshingly straightforward approach to counselling in which we will focus on the future that you want and the first small signs of this happening, giving you something to work towards. Remarkably, this approach also addresses past issues and current problems at the same time as making progress.
Solution Focused Therapy is brief because you will be encouraged to notice improvements from our very first contact, immediately creating a focus on things becoming better. By establishing this immediate focus, you can achieve rapid and sustainable changes in your life.
This also ensures that you get excellent value for money; the average number of sessions is 4, although this obviously varies according to your circumstances. Typically, we would meet more frequently at the start and increase the gap between sessions over time. You are also welcome to come back for a 'booster session' after the end of therapy, so 6 sessions could easily be spread over 6 months.
With this approach, by focusing on the future that you want, you will also resolve the things that you don't want. Most approaches to counselling concentrate on the past and therefore take much longer.
I aim to create a relaxed environment in which we can have straightforward, collaborative conversations about the things that are important to you and at the pace that is right for you. We will look for small changes that you can build on; small changes often have a snowballing effect and lead to bigger changes.

Client Feedback
I have had therapy on and off for years and Bryan was the first one who explained what he did and why he did it. He believed in me and gave me hope at a time when I had little.
The therapist was excellent, because he opened my eyes to what I had achieved and how far I had come. He concentrated on potential, rather than guilt or blame, which I found motivating and self affirming.
The therapist was exactly what I needed at that point. I felt he understood me very well. He let me lead the conversation, but had a remarkable knack of making comments which helped me reach a point of realisation on my own; which is exactly the way I respond best.
I felt very relaxed. I was listened to and could say exactly how I really felt. Importantly, I was given the space to make up my own mind. After every session, I felt very positive.
I was respected, listened to and my thoughts were channelled to positive areas; I was given different perspectives and allowed to talk problems through. I was welcomed, not judged.
