My name is Bridgett and I have been a fully qualified and practising counsellor for just over six years. I can offer a confidential, non-judgemental, safe space for anyone wishing to explore issues and make changes to their life.
Although my roots are based in the person-centred approach I have over the years that I have been practising evolved into an integrative counsellor. This means that I will use techniques and strategies from other counselling models to tailor therapy to each individual client that I work with.
I offer face to face and telephone counselling on a short or long term basis. I specialise in stress. anxiety and depression either short or long term.
I have worked in the voluntary sector for a number of years working with people with mental health issues, drug and alcohol dependency as well as relationship, bereavement, self esteem and confidence issues. I also work for EAP companies (employee assistance programmes) that provide counselling in and outside the workplace for a range of issues including long term illness, depression, stress and anxiety.
I also have an interest in sleep issues and the impact of disturbed sleep patterns on the individuals physical and mental health. I offer Mindfulness practice as an intervention to encourage quality rest and relaxation to aid better quality sleep and sleep patterns.
