Bridget Garcia, DIP COUNS, MBACP
Welcome to my page.
I worked in Social Care for many years before I began Coaching on Personal Development Courses in Europe and America in 2005. I then qualified as a Person-Centred Counsellor in Stamford, Lincolnshire and I now work integratively for both private clients and the NHS from Kent Counsellors in Broadstairs.
My earlier Counselling posts include a GP Surgery, Place2be (Primary School Counsellor) and a Special needs School where I worked with the parents and teachers.
I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge and continue to learn, to support you in the best way possible.
Person-Centred Counselling takes the view that every individual has the internal resources they need for growth. I aim to provide the conditions for that growth to occur which include empathy, honesty and acceptance.
I also work with CBT. I can provide practical tools to help you manage your unhelpful thought processes and/or a space for you to be heard depending on your individual needs.
I have worked successfully with hundreds of clients from many different backgrounds covering areas such as abuse, anxiety, panic, OCD, depression, loss, bereavement, childhood issues, lack of confidence and relationship problems.
Life's challenges can feel overwhelming at times and there can be little time or opportunity to express how we feel and get in touch with our emotions. The service that I offer enables you to reflect on and reassess your situation in a space of care and understanding with no judgement so that you can then move forward with clarity.
Counselling is a wonderful opportunity for you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a confidential, safe and friendly environment. It can assist your learning, healing, understanding and growth.
I love the process of one to one Therapy (short term and long term) and strongly believe that it can change the lives of those who engage in it.
