Bridget Garcia, DIP COUNS, MBACP
WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
Counselling is a wonderful opportunity for you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a confidential, safe and friendly environment. It can assist your learning, healing, understanding and growth.
My role is to help you in this process without judgement or telling you what to do. I may on occasion give information or offer suggestions.
COUNSELLING CAN HELP:
- Promote change.
- Build self-confidence.
- Untangle thoughts and feelings.
- Come to terms with Loss.
- Increase self-awareness.
- Find inner-strength.
- Realise one's potential.
- Create more peace and contentment.
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor with a background working in the NHS and Schools. I have counselled in a Doctor's surgery, a special-needs School and a Primary School setting and I currently work in private practice.
Person-centred Counselling takes the view that every individual has the internal resources they need for growth. I aim to provide the conditions for that growth to occur. These include empathy, honesty and acceptance.
I have worked with a wide range of clients from different backgrounds covering areas such as abuse, anxiety, depression, bereavement, childhood issues, lack of confidence and relationship problems.
Sometimes, problems and changes in our lives can be overwhelming and there seems to be no time or opportunity to express how we feel and get in touch with our emotions. The service that I offer enables you to reflect on and reassess your situation so that you can then move on.
I started out studying and coaching on Personal Development Courses in America and Europe before training to be a Counsellor in Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.
I love the process of one to one Therapy and strongly believe that Counselling can change the lives of those who engage with it.
