About me
I have a number of years experience as an Integrative counsellor. I previously worked for Philippi Counselling in Blackpool and am now self-employed working with adults, children, couples and families experiencing a wide range of problems in the Blackpool and Fylde area.
I am a committed Christian who works with all people regardless of faith. I do not bring my Christian view points into the counselling room unless requested. However my Christian principles define the way I work with my clients and in that way the client will experience my Christian nature, will not be judged and will know respect, patience, kindness, compassion, gentleness and understanding of their situations and emotions.
Each session lasts 1 hour with sessions conducted in Lytham St Annes and Blackpool (depending on room availability). I try to make each session as relaxed and enjoyable as possible so there is usually a kettle boiled ready for a tea or coffee. I recognise the client’s uniqueness and adapt my counselling to suit the individual’s/couples needs. My commitment to clients is for as long as they require my help and therefore counselling is open ended and the client decides how may sessions they require. In order to make sure the number of sessions is never more than is required the number of sessions will be reviewed on a regular basis.
As the client may be uncertain about counselling or whether I am the counsellor for them the first session is a free of charge, no obligation ‘Get to Know You’ session where counselling is explained more fully and the client is given the chance to begin to tell their story and become accustomed to counselling.
My practice is called New peace as my promise to all clients is to:-
Never give up on them and work with them for as long as they need my counselling support. There will however be times when my skills and knowledge are not enough and more specialist help is required. In these situations I will help the client to find the help that they need.
Encourage them to grow in self-awareness and gain the confidence to enable them make the decisions and changes that they need to make to improve their life
Work to the best of my ability at all times to help them find the:-
Peace that they have lost or may never have known and a hope for a better future.

The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
