Neath Port Talbot
I came into counselling from a background of dealing with people-related issues in both private industry and in the public sector. My career has given me many years’ experience in helping people to think clearly during stressful times in their working and in their personal lives. You will find me welcoming, approachable and committed to making you feel at ease. I am practical, pragmatic, and naturally inclined towards Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
'CBT’ is a practical, sensible, and effective means of turning your negative and destructive thoughts into positive actions. It enables you to regain your sense of stability and perspective.
My approach lends itself to dealing with a wide range of personal issues. These can typically include:
- anxiety and depression
- low confidence and self esteem
- anger management
- relationship issues
- work-related issues
- loss and bereavement
Training, qualifications & experience
I have over 30 years' experience of working with people to resolve issues which impact upon their daily lives. Respect and confidence are critical ingredients to achieving progress and this governs my approach towards my work.
My counselling experience is supported by my professional membership of the BACP. My people management experience is supported through Fellowship of the CIPD.
Areas of counselling I deal with
- Domestic violence
- Emotional abuse
- Generalised anxiety disorder
- Low self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
Your confidence in my ability to help you is absolutely critical to your progress. For this reason, I offer a free, half-hour introductory meeting where I will tell you a little about me and the way I work. This will help you decide whether you wish to proceed with counselling. There is no obligation whatsoever for you to do so.
If you do decide to work with me, I normally charge £30 per meeting (which will last for up to an hour).
