About us

We provide a completely confidential counselling service for people aged 13 and over and on any issue. We have a team of experienced counsellors with a range of therapies and skills to suit your needs. Our aim is to provide an affordable, safe and confidential environment for people to talk about their deepest personal issues and enable them to make changes in their lives and behaviour that are right for them.

Bradford Counselling Services is a professional voluntary sector organisation which is commissioned to provide specialist counselling services to anyone who needs such services regardless of their gender, age, race, ethnic or national origins, religion or belief and ability to pay for those services.

Training, qualifications & experience

Bradford Counselling Services employs a range of fully qualified counsellors, working across a range of methods, including person centered; humanistic;psycho dynamic; CBT; and psycho sexual. We also provide placements for students undertaking their Diploma in Counselling.

BCS believes that talking therapies should be available to all regardless of income. Therefore, all of our counselling is free. However, as with most volunteer-led organisations, we have a waiting list, which at the moment stands at around 12 - 16 weeks, depending on the client's flexibility in terms of time.

Therefore we have a Fast Track Service for those who are willing to pay. This does not mean that the queue is jumped, or that those who are unable to pay have to wait longer. All clients seen under our Fast Track Service are additional to our NHS funded service, and all proceeds go towards supporting the work of the charity and helping to increase capacity, improve our service and eventually reduce waiting times.

The Fast Track Service costs £42 per session. All initial appointments are free.
