I am a qualified and experienced humanistic Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I am also qualified in Mindfulness based C.B.T. I work with adults and have had extensive experience working with young people.
I work privately within Osteopathy&Wellbeing@CT6 which is a private clinic in Herne Bay. This is a welcoming and professional environment. I offer long and short term counselling. I also currently work for the student counselling service at Canterbury College, working with current students, of all age groups.
Sometimes life can be a struggle and can feel hard to manage. Counselling can provide a confidential, accepting and empathic environment that can help you feel safe to talk about what it is that may be affecting or worrying you. It can also help with self awareness and enable you to gain a greater understanding of why you think, behave and feel the way you do. This can therefore help you to find better ways of coping and managing day to day life more effectively.
For counselling to work it is important to feel safe, supported and respected and this is what I aim to provide. Every person is unique and I have a flexible approach, working in ways most beneficial for each person.
I have experience of working with people from all walks of life with a wide range of issues and problems such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, eating disorders, gender dysphoria, relationship issues, self harm, anger and stress.
As a member of BACP I abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy which can be found at www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework.
