We work in a cosy complementary therapy clinic in Charing Cross - Glasgow City Centre/West End. We offer short term treatments and long term support with a variety of schedules and prices.
We have all worked in mental health services before studying together and have some life experience to add to our work too.
Vikki Carr - As a nurse and support worker I have worked with people facing many challenges like acute mental health crisis, chronic and terminal conditions, neurological disease, addiction, mood disorders and complex social issues. I work integratively and intuitively but also enjoy the fast tangale results of a structured behavioural approach. I can offer long term support or short term behavioural therapy. As a CBT therapist I have supported people with:self harm, depression, addiction, trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, loss and bereavement, relationship issues and management of long term psychiatric conditions.
I also have a background in eastern philosophy which influences who I am and what I do. I can incorporate things like detached mindfulness, breathing practice and yoga asana when its appropriate. I do love the mindfulness based and third wave therapies. I work part time as a massage therapist at the clinic and am able to take concessionary clients for affordable counselling on some week day lunch times. My fees are between £20 and £40 for 60 mins and usually we meet weekly or fortnightly. The best way to get hold of me is to text my mobile on 07828807526 and arrange to pop in to Elmbank Therapies for a quick chat to see if we can work together. I am also open to working on a mobile basis for people with a disability-if you are interested in home visits please arrange an initial chat at Elmbank Street a comfortable meeting place in Glagsow City Centre.
Kirsty Giles - My background in helping people is quite varied:I have been working in the health and care sector for over 10 years now, both with adults and children and young people.
I graduated with a BSc with Honours Degree in Psychology in 2012, with my specialist subject being Child Development.
I have over 8 years experience working with children and young people suffering with trauma- related issues which has had an impact on their mental health. I am also a Theraplay informed Practitioner which I can implement into my therapy sessions when appropriate.
I can offer a unique service to families, couples, individuals and children and young people on a one to one basis or as a family unit. As a flexible and integrated therapist, I would tailor interventions based on your needs and goals for therapy. We would use the foundations of the CBT approach within our sessions and anything we decided to do would be decided together.
You are the expert in your life and I, as your therapist, would provide a safe, consistent and welcoming environment for you to understand what the problems are and we would work together to improve your life. With adults I would be happy to have a free thirty minute consultation either over the phone or in person at my office to discuss what the problems were and how I could help.
My rates are £40 per hour for individuals and £55 for families/groups. You can contact me on 07749152071 to arrange a chat.
