I am a highly experienced Cognitive Behaviour Therapist within the NHS / IAPT service and have been practising therapy with patients in the NHS and private practice for 15 years.
I have a Masters Degree in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (a type of CBT) and I am also a qualified Special Educational Needs Teacher with adults and children.
I follow the BABCP and NICE guidelines , as expected within the NHS, and am supervised monthly by an accredited BABCP Supervisor / Mentor Ms Liz Doggart.
I can provide excellent psychotherapy support to clients who have a wide range of mental health difficulties or situational problems.
This can include anything from mild depression, anxiety, stress management, anger management, low self-esteem, PTSD (trauma), OCD (obsessive thoughts and ruminations), panic attacks and family / relationship difficulties.
I am also accustomed to working with self-harm and suicidal ideations, childhood abuse, sexual abuse and trauma. Most of my patients are referred by their GP's or privately through word-of-mouth. I am accustomed to writing reports and letters for GP's and legal matters.
Additionally, I am able to apply my skills in English, Urdu and Hindi. I am cultural sensitivity to clients and protect their confidentiality within the community and am never judgemental.
Once contacted, an appointment is booked for a brief assessment (to help define your problems, goals and obstacles). Then we can collaborate in creating an individually tailored CBT formulation and treatment plan within a 10 session framework. Most clients / patient are well on their way to recovery by their eighth appointment. All confidential material is kept securely - as I follow the Caldicott principles regarding data protection.
My NHS statistics demonstrate that I was the most effect High Intensity CBT practitioner in the Leicester City IAPT service for the 18 month duration (whilst working there). I can only guess that this is likely to be the same in Nottingham, where I currently work - at Greenfields Surgery. My patient success rate is high, with only two relapses in the past 18 months.
My service can offer both individual or couple sessions of either short or long-term therapy. I am also qualified and experienced in working with children and their families to help overcome a wide range of difficulties.
Costs vary from a minimum of £50 - £175 per session. Legal or medical reports are an additional cost.
Clients are expected to support their personal development in therapy by completing mutually agreed homework, this may include assessment forms / documents, reading recommended resources that I will provide, exposure and behavioural exercises (for social anxiety and panic attacks).
