I am a counsellor in Derbyshire with more than 20 years experience in universities and GP surgeries, and in private practice.
I believe that all sorts of circumstances change who and how we are. Sometimes this can lead to us being overwhelmed with thoughts and feelings or behaving in ways we don't recognise or like in ourselves.
Talking things through in a therapeutic relationship can help us to re-connect and find our own understanding and ways forward.
This can restore a sense of perspective, identity and equilibrium and renew our relationships with ourselves and those around us.
I listen with acceptance, openness, authenticity and a freedom from judgement.
I have experience with many issues and I welcome clients from all walks and at all stages of life, including towards its end.
I value diversity in belief, background, ability, sexual orientation and gender, and other ways we experience our identity.
I have found that being in the natural world can provide us with a greater sense of our own nature, it can expand our horizons, change our perspective and challenge us, so as well as working in The Coach House Studios in Wirksworth, I also see clients in a nearby woodland.
Please contact me by phone or email if you'd like to talk any of this through. I will reply to you as soon as possible. If what I am offering is of interest to you we could arrange an initial meeting without obligation.

I work in and around the market town of Wirksworth in Derbyshire. This is accessible from Derby by bus and Nottingham and Sheffield are within an hour's drive.
I currently offer 3 possible locations for counselling:
- inside at The Coach House Studios in the centre of Wirksworth. One of the rooms has possible access for wheelchair users, however access to the toilet involves a few stairs.
- outside at a smallholding close to Wirksworth where there is parking, and an accessible toilet.
- in a nearby woodland that would involve some rough terrain and no facilities!
We will decide in advance of each session where it will be held so we can meet there and both prepare for weather etc. if necessary.
