About me

As a psychotherapist and certified Trauma Therapist, my aim is to explore at depth any problems that you are seeking help for. I am also a certified trauma therapist in AIT: this treatment works with the negative energy in the body, which has collected over time through specific traumas, developmental traumas, negative core beliefs and unhelpful patterns of behaviours and thoughts. This treatment has been developed after years of research on the impact of trauma on the brain and neural pathways and its affects on the body. The two types of therapy work together. BUT you may prefer to not have AIT and that is fine too.

Our first meeting would be warm and welcoming, where we would talk about your needs and how I can best help you. We would agree on our length of time in working together such as, short-term work or open-ended and discuss which approach you feel more comfortable with, whether it be AIT.

My commitment to you would include ensuring that I provide a safe, secure haven where you would be able to begin to find your true, inner voice -  in contrast to the world we live in where work, family and relationships can cause us to ‘lose’ ourselves.

I have been practising as a psychotherapist for 12 years in charitable organisations, an NHS Complex Care Unit and a Community Mental Health Team. I now have a private practice in Harrow, Middlesex.

I work integratively, drawing on different approaches tailored to suit the needs of the person and their issues. My main approach is Psychodynamic which includes exploring past experiences and relationships and how they may have impacted on present day difficulties; exploring and working through self-sabotaging behaviour and tendencies to self-criticise.

My integration includes an awareness of how the body responds to emotional distress such as anxiety, anger, sadness and longing: an understanding of what a person’s body is ‘saying’ can help where the right words cannot be found.

It could be that we begin to realise that as hard as we try to do things differently, we end up with the same dilemma or same position as before.

I have experience in a wide range of issues such as paranoia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, chronic pain and also specialise in:-

PTSD

CPTSD

> childhood and adult abuse
> relationship issues
> anxiety
> depression
