From my personal experience of counselling and 12-Step programmes, and my own journey through training as an integrative counselling therapist I am very aware of the importance of being listened to in an accepting and non-judgmental way.
It is my core belief that the relationship between the counsellor and client is the most important 'ingredient' in therapy. Thus, as my client, I will offer you a warm, safe and secure place in which we can establish and maintain our relationship to enable you to explore anything that is troubling you and causing you emotional upset; to help you live a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
My practice is located in a quiet environment, with plenty of free on-street parking available.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified therapist with an advanced diploma in integrative counselling. And a BA (Hons) in Counselling from the University of Surrey.
I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and adhere to the BACP code of Ethics.
For many years I worked as a volunteer therapist for a local youth counselling agency, working with people of various ages, before moving into working with young people in a number of different middle and secondary schools in the agency. For more than three years now, I have been employed by this agency to facilitate emotional support groups, and provide crisis counselling in schools, to students aged 11-18 years old.
I have a private practice, where I offer counselling to people of all ages and backgrounds, who wish to explore and resolve issues that are causing them emotional and psychological pain.
To ensure I am offering my clients the best possible service, I continue to attend regular workshops and training on a variety of counselling-related topics.
