I am of Indian origin and have grown up in the UK most of my life, so English is my first language. With a UK education and having an English partner, I have experienced various challenges between the values of my own heritage, and those I have grown up with in the British Society. I therefore take a very considered and empathetic approach in understanding all human beings, and fully embrace and respect all my clients, regardless of their background. With my role as a therapist, and the counselling and psychotherapy work that I carry out with my clients, I strongly believe in empowering individuals to make their own decisions which enables them to enhance their life choices.
From time to time everyone faces challenges in life and need some support. Reaching out, is the first step to making changes.
Counselling and Psychotherapy are medically recognised as being highly effective processes for improving mental well-being and enhancing personal growth. You have the option of making those changes and to be the person you want to be.
I offer short and long term face-to-face therapy in my private practice. I also offer online and telephone support for clients who are unable to make face-to-face visits.
Although my main practice is based in East Sussex near Uckfield, Crowborough and Forest Row, I am only 20 minutes drive from Crawley and Haywards Heath in West Sussex.
"I had no idea what to expect, but from the first session, Bena put me at ease. Throughout my journey she was nothing but encouraging, warm, accepting and absolutely professional. One of the best things about each time I met with Bena is that I could turn up exactly as I was- having had a good week, a bad week, happy or sad, with laughter or with tears- and she would meet me where I was at, and help me navigate the maze of emotions to be able to move forward." Claire
"Bena has provided me with an incredible online therapy support for the past few months. She has helped me look at things from a different perspective, and really improved my relationships and trust in others. I am now a lot happier and less anxious than when I first began with Bena." E.J
"Bena has offered me the best counselling that I have ever received. She explains concepts clearly and I relate to the diagrams used visually. I very much enjoy our sessions and she has helped me so much its difficult to describe. A.A
"Following what seemed to be a minor head injury in Jan 15, I was referred for some counselling. The support I have received from Bena has shown me a way to navigate through problems that I did not previously have to consider. Whilst I have a good support network through my friends and family, the sessions I have had with Bena is the factor that has allowed me to see that I can find my way through this." Ian

The ethical codes of practice that underpin my professional work is governed by UKATA (United Kingdom Association of Transactional Analysis), the BACP and EATA (European Association of Transactional Analysis). My work is regularly supervised by a qualified and UKCP registered Supervisor.
My psychotherapy modality is Integrative TA and I use a humanistic tradition in the work that I do with all my clients. English is the language I use when working with my clients, however I can also speak Gujarati if there are individuals who would prefer to communicate in Gujarati.
