About me

There are times in life when we find that our usual ways of managing aren’t working so well.  At such moments, support through psychotherapy or counselling can be the difference that supports your positive change.

I am a compassionate, thoughtful and experienced therapist who understands that there are times in life when we can struggle to feel ok.

Are there events or aspects of your life that you don't feel good about? That leave you feeling sad, stressed, angry, frustrated and emotionally drained? Do you not feel completely in control of events or emotions and don't know which way to turn?

If this sounds familiar then therapy may help you to explore your situation, reach some understanding and to make positive changes in your life. Being able to talk through concerns with professional guidance and support makes a real difference.  Sessions aim to help you feel clearer about your own strengths and your own choices, to help you understand your responses to particular situations and think about what you might do differently to feel better.

If this sounds helpful, call or email so we can talk further and you can find out more.

My approach is to support you to find a positive relationship with yourself and with others.  I work with a wide range of concerns including couple and family relationships, attachment issues, separation/divorce, step-family issues, co-parenting, life-stage transitions, ill health and/or bereavement as well as working with anxiety/depression, and self-esteem.

With over fifteen years’ experience in the voluntary and statutory sectors alongside work with criminal justice settings and mental health, I am qualified as a systemic psychotherapist, relationship and family therapist, counsellor and supervisor.  I am a Registered Member of UKCP and member of AFT (Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice).

I also offer supervision to trainee and experienced counsellors as well as organisational supervision and am an academic tutor in the field of systemic practice, counselling and relationships.

Sessions available by telephone/online.

Please telephone or email to arrange an initial introductory conversation.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a systemic psychotherapist, family therapist, couples psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor working in statutory and third sector settings, as well as in private practice.

My approach is systemic which means that part of the work considers you not in isolation but in your contexts, both past and present, thinking about how these experiences impact both on your relationships and on your wellbeing.  This might mean your relationship with yourself, with your intimate partner or with your family: in the past, the present or the future.

I have worked in private practice for more than 8 years and during this time have supported a wide range people when they have found themselves struggling in their lives in whatever capacity.

I have recently worked as a family therapist for Camhs, working with families of all ages.  Having worked for Relate for a number of years I am an experienced relationship psychotherapist working with couple relationship difficulties such as communication, separation and divorce, affairs, control or abuse, step family issues, co-parenting, life stage transitions, ill health and/or bereavement.

I offer Supervision for both trainees and experienced practitioners and work for Relate as a clinical supervisor.

I have an MSc in Psychological Therapies from Exeter University, a Diploma in Supervision, a Post Qualifying Diploma in working with Children and Young People and originally qualified as a counsellor with Relate in 2007.
