Beatrix Santos PG in Relationship Therapy for couples and individuals
I am an experienced, fully qualified, integrative Counsellor in private practice.
I work with individuals and couples using mostly a Psychodynamic and Systemic approach.
I have extensive experience in working with clients from different backgrounds and with a wide range of presenting issues. Including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress and eating disorders.
Having trained and worked for Relate for many years, I have considerable experience in working with couples and relationship problems, dealing with issues such as loss, affairs and betrayal, sex and domestic abuse. I also work with individuals as well as couples.
Relationships are often affected when a person is feeling vulnerable, it is important to get non-judgemental, non-bias help to overcome or to deal with stressful situations.
Having moved to the UK in 1999, living in London for 10 years before moving to Hessle. I have experienced the challenges and difficulties of establishing oneself in a foreign country. This experience has given me the understanding of several issues that others might present in therapy, such as identity and culture, issues around ‘home’ and ‘belonging’ and cross cultural relationships. I welcome working with people for whom English is not their first language and I offer Counselling in both English and Portuguese.
I hold a current full disclosure DBS check and have completed a safe guarding children Level one course.
My practice is in the Weir, in Hessle, where I offer a supportive, safe and confidential space for you to talk about your concerns with the aim of overcoming your difficulties.
It is never too early or too late to seek help, in fact many issues will possibly come up later in life or with the retirement. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or want to book an appointment.
