Life can present us with many hurdles, and we may not know how or what to do. I can help you in getting you to understand your situation as well as finding a solution. Counselling provides a platform for you to be listened to and allows you to work through with what you have to say because sometimes we just need to be heard.
I have been working in the mental health sector for over 10yrs now and have enjoyed the various roles I've been in through the years. Currently working in the public sector as a full-time counsellor enables me to keep my work fresh and in sync with the changing times. I have my own private practice also which has been growing in parallel. I am experienced in a range of issues and with my background in Psychology, this enables you to understand your problem on a deeper psychological level and help you gain clarity and resolution of your problem creating long-lasting positive changes in your life.
I offer a flexible and attentive service which is non-judgemental and confidential, allowing you to express whatever is on your mind in a safe and quiet space. I provide both short and long-term therapy, depending on your requirements so that you can work through your problem at your own pace, there is no time limit with your own therapy. Research suggests that it takes a minimum of 6 sessions to see and feel the benefits of therapy, however this is dependent on individual circumstances.
I am an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist, providing therapy to Individuals or Couples.
Some areas I work with people on are:
- General Anxiety Disorder/ Existential Anxiety
- Stress reduction
- Childhood issues
- Relationship issues
- Couples therapy
- Personal development
I also provide cognitive behaviour coaching to those who feel "stuck" in their lives.
I am an accredited member of the British Psychological Society, the National Counselling Society and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in accordance with the highest professional and ethical standards set by them.
Some information on Relationship Therapy/Counselling:
Relationships need to be nurtured to be kept alive, when this does not take place things can go wrong and couples can start to see and feel that there are cracks. This leads to breakdown of relationships including marriages.
I have furthered my training in couples therapy and have experience in working with many couples through their problems as a couple or individually, ultimately helping them to make better decisions for themselves as well as for their relationship.
I believe that everyone is individual and unique and that we all have our own ways of thinking and doing things. Being an integrative therapist I am able to tailor my therapy to your specific needs, I am also accommodating to those who are looking for a more person-centered approach to couples counselling.
I offer a professional and confidential consultation in the first counselling session where the issue is discussed in detail giving you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
