About me

My objective is to facilitate you to gain a deeper understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing. In my experience and having worked with many presenting issues and different people one thing that I have observed in my practice it’s the very important need to feel connected to others but also to our own self.

We human are very complex and our emotions sometimes can be difficult and complicated to experience. Experiencing challenging and overwhelming emotions can be very difficult and the struggle sometimes can feel unbearable.

Our early life experiences and our experiences of ourselves and others can create a narrative and belief of the world we live in and the relationship we have with others and this sometimes can be unconscious. Through a safe therapeutic relationship that I offer these experiences can be explored and can allow you to gain a better understanding of yourself and how you may take more informed choices of how you want to live your life, rather than being dictated by unconscious narratives and beliefs.

This may give you a sense of more control of the future choices you make. The most important relationship that you need to develop and nourish is the relationship with yourself.  We can feel sometimes lost and stuck at various times of our lives or because some event or experience and we can lose trust in ourselves and others and our abilities and sense of agency.

We can be in relationship where our needs are not met or where we feel we are not connected or understood and communicating our feelings or experience may be very challenging or unsafe.

My own challenges made me an experienced therapist.
My experiences of challenges in my early childhood and adolescence made me the therapist I am today supporting people to better understand themselves and give them the opportunities to explore their experiences and concerns in a safe and confidential space that is also accompanied with empathy confidentiality and non-judgment.

Whatever difficulties you may be facing. I will provide you with a safe and emphatic space so you may be ableto explore whatever you may which to explore.Counselling  -  A therapy to talk through difficult  issues and reactions in your everyday life.

I work holistically and integratively using different model.

Counselling -  A therapy to talk through difficult  issues and reactions in your everyday life

CBT  -  A solution based therapy to adjust and challenge thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

EMDR  -  A trauma focused treatment for single or multiple trauma, approved by the NHS for the treatment of trauma/PTSD and other presentations such as phobias, anxiety etc.

What to expect from our initial meeting
In my initial meeting we will explore needs and concerns. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. In this initial consultation we will have the chance to get each other and, by the end, we will decide if it is appropriate to work together. If we do decide to work together my suggestion is to work for 6 sessions with a session to review and to explore if it is necessary to continue. This is of course all explored in the safety of a confidential space.
Key words used in my counselling practice– Emphatic- Understanding- Supportive- Challenging, and most of all ethical and confidential. In the years I have worked with people I have learned great strategies and can offer you many different tips. You will then have the choice and opportunity to use them. I take my work seriously however in the time we work together there will be opportunity to also smile.

My sessions are offered on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
