Welcome to my page.
My way of working is gentle and non prescriptive. As an Integrative counsellor, I use a variety of approaches, dependent on your needs and how you would like to work together.
My aim is to support and walk alongside you on your journey. Focussing on the here and now, I provide a warm and safe space to explore and gently transform current and past difficulties in your life.
Building a trusting relationship based on compassion and non-judgement is key to creating a safe explorative space. We can do this through talking, through sand play and objects, visualisations, guided breathing and body sensations – whichever you decide is right for you at the time.
I believe that working with body responses can be very healing. By bringing awareness to tension and holding patterns in the body without forcing any change, allows a release. This maybe accompanied by emotions, images or memories which once found, can bring a sense of relief, as well as insight and meaning to your life.
The underlying principle of my work is the belief that you have the ability to heal and change. The process of gentle exploration, questioning and dialogue can bring understanding and self-compassion. This in turn can give you autonomy over your life creating choice and ultimately offering sustainable positive change.
Deciding on which therapist to see can be a big decision. With this in mind, it can be helpful to have an initial chat with me on the phone. I also offer an introductory session allowing you to decide whether I am the right person for you.
