About me

Offering confidential counselling & psychotherapy by phone or online.
I am an integrative counsellor offering cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and EMDR.

Call 07990 500040 for details or email me.

In helping relationships and talking therapies, the relationship and rapport with your therapist is of paramount importance.  But this has to be underpinned with qualifications and correct knowledge about psychotherapy.

I have a wide acquirement of qualifications, the highest of which are a Masters Degree from Manchester University and Accreditation since 2008 with British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy.

I have just celebrated the landmark 20 years as a practicing counsellor in various sessions that have included The Priory, NHS, Bupa, private addiction rehab units, and extensive EAP work.

This means that I have the qualifications and experience to help a large range of mental health problems in a confidential, non-judgemental, and responsive way.                                _________________________________________________________________________

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

TELEPHONE or ONLINE Counselling, CBT & EMDR in Blackpool.

Working times are flexible but I always try to accommodate clients who require evening and weekend appointments.

Further information

I DO TELEPHONE & ONLINE (ZOOM) Counselling.  I offer new prospective clients to meet together as a 'one-off' to see if the rapport between us works.  This first meeting is for about an hour or less (sessions are usually an hour long), and there is no obligation to return.  In other words, you try one session of counselling and then decide whether to proceed.  This is for a fee of £40
At this initial session we can discuss the right possible therapy type for your self.  As you can see on here, I am a practitioner of EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing); CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy); Counselling (person centered); and I have training also in psychodynamic and transactional analysis approaches.  These types of therapies can be discussed at your first session to decide what is most suitable for you.
