Friendly, professional, confidential, holistic counsellor/psychotherapist specialising in abuse, trauma, traumatic bereavement, low self esteem and body image therapy not just a talking therapy but working with the creative arts, sandtray and nature.
My love of, and connection with, nature and animals has led me to bring the healing spirit of nature into my counselling work.
Working with the whole person I will try and help you find a balance where you can feel a sense of peace and stillness in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
We may work with mindfulness, the creative arts, sand tray, body/somatic response therapy or even outside amongst nature; whatever you feel comfortable doing and what you feel is helpful to you. Our sessions will be tailored to you as an individual person.
I work by helping you understand your body’s response to everyday triggers which may be leading to panic attacks, anxiety, drinking or drugs, work and relationship issues, excessive internet/Xbox gaming or chronic pain.
If you feel past events are having a detrimental effect on how you lead your life today we can slowly and gently find a way to look at these issues be it childhood emotional, sexual, physical or verbal abuse, victim of crime i.e. domestic violence, terminal illness or bereavement.
Or if you just feel something is “wrong” but can’t quite put your finger on it, just having someone to talk to who will listen non judgementally can help you work out what it is and ways to either live with, work through or overcome it.
I cover South Devon, Torbay and the South hams and work from a beautiful peaceful room in Torbay.
