Profile
I am an experienced psychotherapist in private practice working from a peaceful village in Rutland. I work with clients experiencing a range of difficulties such as anxiety and depression, relational difficulties, divorce, bereavement and grief, anger, life transitions and low self esteem. However some clients are simply wishing to reflect on their lives perhaps with a view to making change.
I also have extensive experience of working with families with such issues as: parenting and parenting styles, child emotional stages, separation and attachment. This includes the specific attachment, separation and behavioural challenges that can occur in post-adoption.
I work from my own home where I have a dedicated therapy room. My room offers a warm, confidential and comfortable environment and is suitable for individual clients, couples or family work.
My approach with clients is to explore what they are wanting from therapy in a way that is collaborative, respectful, accepting and empowering. Predominately I use careful listening and attend closely. However where appropriate I can also offer other creative ways such as drawing, writing or sculpting to help a client's work become more meaningful.
As a therapist I have developed and maintain a supportive network of colleagues. I am a member of UKCP(United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and abide by their code of practice and ethical standards.
