I welcome individual clients and couples to my practice at The Dunton Centre. At some point in life, many people find themselves struggling with challenges such as difficult relationships, separation and divorce, anxiety, anger or depression. My aim is to provide you with space and time to examine issues which you may find difficult to discuss, even with friends and family, in the context of a warm, confidential and non-judgemental counselling relationship.
I believe that, with support, we all have the resources to overcome obstacles and to live life in a more fulfilling way. I see my role as supporting my clients in finding the right way forward for them. My work with individual clients is psychodynamically based, as I believe that current distress often originates in early experiences and relationships.
I am also trained in Person Centred Counselling and Existential Therapy and can draw on elements from these models, depending on the needs of my client.
My work with couples is based on the Person Centred approach. My goal is to create a safe space where both parties can express their views and feelings and feel confident that they are being listened to with equal care, empathy and attention. I work hard to understand the individual experiences of both of my clients, even when these appear contradictory. By creating a 'listening' environment I believe my clients come to hear each other better which, in turn, leads to improved communication and greater understanding between them.
I offer both short or long term counselling.
I am one of a group of counsellors who offer counselling at the highly regarded Dunton Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy. The Dunton Centre, based in a quiet village with easy parking, has been offering counselling and psychotherapy for over 20 years.
