Hello my name is Anne, I offer you a warm welcome to my private practice situated in a quiet location of Newcastle upon Tyne near the Town Moor, affording easy access by public transport and plenty of parking nearby. I genuinely care about your wellbeing and provide a calm, relaxed and safe environment where I will do my best to put you at ease during our time together. I will provide a safe haven in relaxing surroundings where together we will explore and understand what is bothering you, and then help you to gain new perspectives and strategies to overcome your difficulties. As your therapist I will accompany you on your journey for as long or as short a time as you need me.......
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society and the Health and Care Professions Council offering specialist services across a wide range of emotional issues and difficulties relating to: anxiety, depression, bereavement & loss, abuse, life transition, trauma, illness, sexuality, relationships and addiction - to name but a few.
In addition to counselling and psychotherapy I also offer expertise in Organisational Psychology and I am available for consultation regarding communication skills, conflict management, stress management, work-life balance and wellbeing.
I also offer professional supervision to trainees and qualified professionals.
My extensive range of experience within the NHS, the private sector and charitable organisations has allowed me to successfully help many people with a variety of concerns utilising both brief solution focused therapy as well as longer term in depth psychotherapy.
I am also an experienced Employee Assistance Provider and Occupational Health Psychologist.
As an integrative practitioner I combine tools from psychodynamic, CBT and humanistic therapies. Whilst living in Australia I also trained for over 10 years in the practice of mindfulness and meditation, and this continues to influence and inform my therapeutic approach.
I believe that we are all unique individuals and perceive the world in a way that is personal to us. As a result, there is no ’right’ or ‘wrong’ way to be ‘who we are’ and as your therapist I will strive to tailor my therapeutic approach to meet your uniqueness, individuality, issues and concerns.
As human beings we are all a work in progress striving to reach our full potential and with the right support, help and guidance I believe we all have the capacity to overcome adversity, gain new perspectives and find resolutions to life’s challenges. Indeed ... It’s never too late to become what we might have been.
I will work towards forming a strong relationship with you, my client, which is both healing and based on trust. This alliance will then allow us to work closely, together exploring and understanding the issues, addressing your concerns and finding solutions that will work for you.
Throughout our journey of life we all embark upon stormy seas at times and I will offer you a safe haven to shelter from the storm offering you calm and clarity until the storm passes and you can sail onto calmer waters as you continue on your journey.
As your therapist it will be my privilege to join you as you weather the storms of your life journey and sail on to calmer waters ......we will work together to explore, understand and overcome what is troubling you and finding solutions that work best for you as an individual
