Profile

I believe that everyone has unlimited potential for personal development and growth. I aim to develop a genuine, empathic, non-judgemental relationship with my clients thereby facilitating the conditions for such growth to occur.

I work to provide support to clients who are often experiencing feelings and emotions unfamiliar to them. Feelings such as fear, anxiety, anger, powerlessness and despair are a common reaction to life events and can be overwhelming and debilitating. It is my experience that counselling can not only help people in times of crisis but also lead to enhanced self-awareness and self acceptance. 

My work is person centred and non-directive and focuses on empowering clients. This may involve gaining or regaining control in areas of their lives and questioning fundamental beliefs and value systems. However, I offer unconditional support to the client during this challenging process. I believe that the client is the "expert" on themselves and work at their pace and according to their agenda.

I aim to be flexible with regard to times and days of appointments and am available at weekends and evenings to fit around working lives.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I have experience of generalist counselling with adult clients of all ages gained through many years counselling in a GP practice.

I hold a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and a Level 4 Diploma in the Theory and Practice of Counselling.

Fees

I charge £20 for the first session and thereafter £30 per session.

I offer a reduced rate of £20 for students and the unwaged.
