I believe that the fundamental starting point of any counselling process is to build a non-judgemental, trusting relationship with the client. I am a warm, approachable and experienced counsellor with 19 years counselling experience working with a wide range of issues. As well as working in private practice, I worked for 12 years for the cancer counselling charity We Hear You (formerly Positive Action on Cancer) and currently work as counselling coordinator for Dorothy House Hospice. I also offer individual and group supervision.
My work has given me extensive in-depth experience of working with cancer, serious illness, loss and bereavement as well as with a range of other life issues including anxiety and depression, family and relationship issues, eating disorders, low self esteem and confidence, life changes and issues relating to childhood trauma and abuse. I provide short term counselling as well as longer term, open ended work.
I offer a free initial consultation to give you the opportunity to meet me, identify the areas you want to work on and look at how we can work together.
