Anne-Louise Frost (Annie) - Calm Waters Counselling
Sad, anxious, confused? Are you experiencing loss, relationship difficulties or stress at work? Reliving painful memories or feeling a loss of identity, or see no way forward in your emotional life?
As your counsellor I offer a 'safe space' in which to understand, by gentle exploration, how and why these feelings have emerged. and with this understanding we can begin to make sense of our emotions and behaviours, and form choices about new paths we can take.
As an integrative therapist, I use skills and techniques from many different therapeutic approaches combining these as necessary, depending on what is needed by you.
I have helped clients with a variety of presenting problems including depression, anxiety, trauma, childhood and family issues, anger, substance abuse, and life events such as bereavement, disability, health issues, retirement and redundancy.
I am passionate about my work, committed, enthusiastic and genuinely care about my clients, working with warmth, intuition and sensitivity.
I work with individuals aged 18+ and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
As a counsellor, I practise the Person Centred approach, which is a non-directive method of providing support to clients. During your counselling, I will offer you a non-judgmental and confidential space where you can gently explore what is happening in your life right now.
I do not give advice, but will help you on your journey by facilitating your understanding and supporting you to find the answers that are right for you, enabling you to move towards a more satisfying and positive way of life.
As your Counsellor, I will support you to voice your fears, frustrations, and experiences, enabling you to understand yourself better. My focus is accepting individuals as a whole, including their life experiences and choices.
I have worked with a wide range of clients and I can provide long and short term counselling.
