Anne Lee, Registered Member BACP
Based in the local area I try to make counselling as accessible as possible to those living in and around Balfron, Killearn, Drymen and Aberfoyle. I have a number of venues where I can meet you and offer both daytime and evening appointments.
People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons - it may be that you are looking for space to explore difficulties in your life, or you may have a particular goal you would like to achieve. In order to help me meet the needs of each individual client I draw on a number of counselling models and keep an open mind about what approach will best suit each individual.
The length and frequency of sessions is a very individual thing. Whilst the majority of clients come once a week for between 3 and 6 sessions, clients with longstanding issues may come over a period of months, decreasing the frequency over time, and for some people a one-off session provides the opportunity to work through a crisis or difficult situation.
My standard fee is £40 per session (55 minutes). A reduced fee of £30 is available for young people and clients on a low income.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.
I have had additional training in the following:
> Solution Focused Brief Therapy
> Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
> Bereavement Counselling
As well as my private work I work as a volunteer counsellor for a voluntary organisation which provides support to carers.
As a member of BACP I am bound by its Ethical Framework and Code of Good Practice. This means that I am required to maintain high professional standards by meeting regularly with a professional supervisor and keeping my knowledge and training up to date.
I am also a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (Disclosure Scotland) which undertakes background checks.
