Annabel Rich MBACP
Thank you for choosing to read my profile.
I am a professionally qualified counsellor, offering therapy for a wide range of issues in a professional and confidential setting. My private practice is in Twyford which has easy access to Winchester and the surrounding area. I see clients in a dedicated safe and private counselling room within my home.
People seek counselling to help resolve a range of issues. You may be experiencing difficult and distressing events in your life, such as bereavement, relationships changes, divorce, health issues, or jobs concerns and difficulties. Or you may have feelings of anxiety, depression, sadness or a general dissatisfaction with life. It is at these times talking things through with someone who is not directly involved in your life can be beneficial.
Counselling will give you the opportunity to be with someone who is trained to listen attentively, and discuss personal issues that may help restore the balance to your life. Counselling can enable us to understand ourselves better, make changes to how we think and feel about things and help us to cope with challenges, so we can lead a fulfilling and happier life.
As a counsellor I provide a confidential, safe, non-judgemental and supportive space for you to explore issues to enable you to take control of your life, resolve your difficulties, make changes, and increase your sense of well-being.
I believe that the relationship between the counsellor and the client is fundamental in the counselling process. It is really important that you feel safe and comfortable in order to be able to trust and confide in the therapist. A good way to begin this process is to contact me for an informal discussion, to find out whether you feel we could work well together.
If you would like to enquire further, please send me a message by e-mail or phone. I will usually get back to you by the next working day. I do prefer to talk directly with you before making a first appointment.
I would be delighted to hear from you and talk more about how counselling could help in your situation. Please feel free to contact me for more information.

The first session we have is called the assessment session as it is the chance for you to assess if I am the right person for you. It also gives me the opportunity to understand what you are looking for and to see if what I can offer will suit you, before making an agreement to work together.
Individual sessions are 50 minutes and can be booked one at a time or in a block. Short term counselling or long term psychotherapy are available to suit your needs. The number of sessions required depends on what it is you would like to explore and this would be discussed during the assessment session. Some clients will come for a few sessions to look at a specific issue; others will choose to work for a longer period on an open-ended basis.
Sessions are usually weekly. For therapy to be effective it is important to have regular appointments. Regular reviews are included to ensure that the counselling is meeting your needs.
I offer daytime appointments.
Individual session - £40
Initial assessment session £30
Sessions are on a weekly basis, however at times there may need to be some flexibility.
