At some point in our lives most of us have felt overwhelmed by our emotions and thoughts, which can affect how we behave, and how we think about ourselves and the world around us. I feel that psychological interventions can provide a safe and confidential space to understand these difficulties, and can bring about positive changes. I believe that creating a deeper understanding of oneself can help people to lead the life they have been wanting to live.
I am a Counselling Psychologist who believes therapy is a collaborative process, and that effective change is based on the relationship between you and the patient. I use Cognitive behavioural, person centred and psychodynamic approaches to inform my practice. I understand that every patient’s presentation is different and therefore I like to tailor my interventions to the needs of the patients and their goals for therapy.
In the past, I have worked for the NHS, charities and in forensic settings all of these experiences have enriched my practice. I have worked with children, adults, families, couples and older adults with a variety of mental health difficulties.
In my initial sessions, I attempt to build a mutual understanding of the patient’s difficulties and a plan on how the therapy can address these. The therapy will involve exploring the patient’s thoughts, feelings and behaviour, including the patient’s relationships, social and cultural influences and background. This in turn, will hopefully help the patient to understand/approach their difficulties in a different way with better coping mechanisms.
I have always wanted to be a psychologist from a young age. I am naturally curious about other people and I get a huge personal satisfaction in supporting people overcome difficulties which are holding them back in some way.
A Little More About Me

It may be possible to use your private health insurance to cover the cost or part of the cost of your appointments. Each healthcare provider (Bupa, Axa, Aviva, Cigna etc) have slightly different policies but most of them are happy for you to approach us directly in the first instance.
Axa require a referral from a Psychiatrist in order to access your policy and we are happy to help arrange this with you.
Bupa require a referral from your GP in order to access your policy. GP’s are often happy to provide a referral following a phone consultation instead of a traditional face to face appointment in the surgery as it is more time efficient.
With the above a quick call to your healthcare provider should allow them clarify these details.
It is worth noting that not all policies will cover the full cost of your treatment. We will advise you of the availability of healthcare appointments, and any cost implications in your initial enquiry.
Some healthcare providers have fees which are different to our self funding rates detailed above. If these are less than our own rate we have to ask that the shortfall is made up by the patient. Please just remember to tell us who your provider is as soon as possible to avoid any confusion when booking.
“I have been having Online CBT Counselling for about 9 months and it has made such a difference. I struggled for years with an eating disorder and depression and I really feel like I’ve got my life back. The online CBT Counselling programme fitted in with the long hours I work and it actually felt more supportive that other types of counselling I have tried because I had contact with my psychologist up to 3 times a week. I am so glad that I tried this approach and would recommend it to anyone who needs help sorting out a problem”.
– Lizzie (Richmond)
“I cannot comment positively enough on the psychologist I saw at The British CBT & Counselling Service. She provided a structured yet flexible framework for discussing my issues, was insightful and at times necessarily firm and challenging which was exactly the sort of counsellor I had hoped to be paired with.”
- Rebecca (Marylebone)
“My husband and I tried a number of counsellors in Fulham before we found The British CBT & Counselling Service. It was such a different experience to the ones we had had before and this time it actually seems to have worked! I would recommend that if you are struggling in your relationship you should try them”.
– Polly (Fulham)
