About me

I provide a safe space to offer counselling and hypnotherapy to explore any worries or concerns. I work using an integrative approach, meaning that I have experience in many different approaches to counselling but I mostly use person-centred,psychodynamic & some behavioural therapy, where the individual is always at the centre of my work. I tailor my approach to the whole person and to their individual needs at that particular time. I specialise in working with anxiety and people who have or are relatives of people with learning disabilities. I have experience of working in social care supporting people who have learning disabilities and a background in nursing and health care. So I have a specialist interest in these areas, but I have a passion for working with all different kinds of people, from all different backgrounds. Counselling gives you the time & space you need to explore difficult issues within a strong therapeutic relationship & without fear of judgement.

I also work with depression, relationship issues, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, abuse, bereavement, grief, anger, low self-esteem, family issues,self-defeating behaviours (such as habits) & goal setting and achievement. I can help with improving relaxation, improving sleep & reducing anxiety through hypnotherapy and to focus on goal achievement. Mindfulness can also be helpful with anxiety & working with panic attacks. Hypnotherapy can be helpful where CBT hasn't helped.

I am registered with the National Counselling Society & the National Hypnotherapy Society & abide by their code of ethics. I do regular CPD training to keep up-to-date with the latest research & practice.

I would initially see you to assess your needs and consider whether we can work together which would be at a reduced fee of £20 and then all following sessions would be at £35 for a 55 minute session.
