Profile
I am an experienced, fully qualified Person-Centred Counsellor with a BA (Hons) degree and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have been working within the NHS voluntary sector for several years and have come to realise how a safe and non-judgemental environment can help a person to explore their issues and fears, and therefore I offer an affordable counselling service for short and long term counselling, dependent on the individuals' requirements.
Cancer was what made me want to realise a career with counselling as I found that having someone to talk to outside of family and friends was amazing. I was able to say what I really felt without worrying about upsetting anyone. This helped me to cope and become stronger within myself and ultimately for others.
I realise that counselling may be difficult for people, as it is not often you are given the time and space for yourself to talk about issues which are deeply affecting you, but that is what I can give. There are many different issues which may arise, such as depression, anxiety, stresses of becoming a carer, bereavement and loss, abuse, and by being able to talk and explore these areas can help a person to accept them and move onto a life they are happier with.
As a counsellor and through my own life's ups and downs, I am aware of how life and family can add to the stress and pressures of everyday life, and I truly believe that counselling can help.
Through my own experience and feedback from my clients I understand how valuable counselling is and as I am aware of the current economic climate I have decided to reduce my fees so as to try and make counselling available to more people.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss your needs or require any further information.
