Angela Jenkins BA (Hons) Dip. Psych. Registered MBACP (Accred).
Experienced, fully qualified counsellor/psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. The main approach I use is based on the psychodynamic principles of working with unconscious issues, possibly from childhood which may be still be affecting your adult relationships. However, I also integrate other modalities into my practice, such as the use of CBT/BA and ACT.
I offer individual psychotherapy or counselling, either on a short or long term basis. In sessions, amongst other issues, I can work with:
* Relationship issues
* Eating disorders
* Anxiety and depression
My company also offers psychological support and advice for companies throughout Cornwall.
Sessions are for 50 minutes and are held in Camborne. There is on street parking nearby and the consulting room is situated near the bus and train stations. There is also the option of daytime or weekend appointments to suit.
What to expect in your first session:
The first session can be extremely anxiety provoking. This is a chance for us to get to meet each other and decide if we can work together. The aim of the initial session is a chance to:
* Meet each other
* Talk about the issues affecting you
* Discuss how best I can support you
* Agree initial number of sessions
It is important, especially during the initial stages of therapy to commit to weekly sessions. The duration of sessions is up to you and every 6 weeks of therapy we will conduct a review together of your progress. Once you decide you would like to end therapy, we will schedule a date suitable for you and will work towards this.
I am also a qualified, clinical supervisor offering supervision to other therapists.
