Angela Phillipou FDSC counselling MBACP
19 St. Georges Hill
Life is sometimes like a roundabout, whizzing out of control - at times, we need to stop it and give ourselves time to think, reassess and perhaps change direction, or accept the direction we are going. I can offer you a safe, non-judgemental space for you to be heard, and to hear yourself, and explore what is happening for you.
A saying that really makes sense to me - "i don't know how i feel, until I hear what I say."
It's never too late for change and gaining a better understanding of yourself.
Below is a little information about counselling .......
I was trained integratively, which means that I can draw and blend upon different types of approaches that suit you.
Being person centred puts you at the centre of the process. I believe that the counselling relationship is paramount to your successful therapy. You are much more likely to work through painful experiences if you feel safe, feel at ease with your therapist, feel valued and not judged.
Most people find therapy most useful if they attend weekly. At our first meeting, we can discuss what you would like to gain from counselling, and if counselling is for you.
Counselling offers you a safe and non-judgemental space to explore your most painful issues, or just to help you get through a difficult time in your life. It enables you to be listened to, and to listen to yourself and look at different perspectives. You may need to come to some acceptance of a certain situation. Counselling can equip you with tools to empower and enable you to become the person you want to be. This will help you to cope with life in the present.
I can now also offer hypnotherapy for -
- Self confidence
- Stop smoking
- Self confidence
- Weight loss
- Starting a 'new you'
- Pain control
- Increasing motivation
- Social skills
- Fear of flying
Self-hypnosis can work really well if you believe that it will. Being in touch with your unconscious mind can be amazing and start the catalyst for a new you. You may find that just one session is sufficient, or you may need a few to get the results you desire.
