About me

*I am fully booked at present*

Are you feeling overwhelmed, frustrated struggling and stuck? Repeating the same cycle of behaviours and patterns and feeling like there is no way through? Has anxiety, low self-esteem or low mood taken the joy out of your day-to-day life, impacting your relationships with others and giving you uncomfortable symptoms that feel hard to explain?

Have you spent hours searching online for quick fixes and solutions to help reduce your symptoms only to end up feeling like a failure because nothing seems to stick?

I get it.

I have specialised in working with anxiety, anxiety disorders, low mood and self-esteem issues in teenagers and adults for fifteen years as a counsellor, coach and trainer and have personal knowledge of how anxiety can show up and impact living life to the fullest.

I have been privileged to work alongside thousands of people to support them in making sense of their experiences.

All of my work is trauma informed.

How I work

I use different therapeutic approaches depending on the stage of life or the event(s) that activated the issues showing up and the therapy I offer is tailored to suit your specific requirements.

If you are looking for a space to work through things, personalise strategies and process what might be happening then counselling can provide a space to make that possible.

At the heart of my work is a belief that with the right support we all have the capacity to change and to reach our full potential.

Length of therapy

I offer short term solution focused therapy as well as long term open ended counselling and this can be discussed and then reviewed throughout our work together.

Who I work with

I work with individuals aged 12 upwards and offer telephone and online counselling.

I am a registered counsellor for The Terrence Higgins Trust and Stonewall.

My background

I began my counselling career at Childline in 2007. Since then I have been fortunate to work with a number of high profile organisations including Mind, Anxiety UK, The YMCA and The Terrence Higgins Trust.

I provide short term solution focused counselling to several health insurance providers and am an experienced school based counsellor.

I deliver stress and anxiety reduction workshops and therapeutic groups for anxious young people struggling to attend school, via my sister company Elemental Health Ltd, I am also a Thrive Childhood years practitioner and NLP coach.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have been counselling since 2007.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
