About me

I am a person-centred counsellor trained in the relational approach. I offer an integrative approach to my practice working with clients appropriately and ethically according to the BACP ethical framework.

I offer short to longer term counselling with a minimum commitment requirement of an initial meeting to determine if we would work well together and to gain insight into why you are seeking counselling. If we decide to proceed, an initial commitment of 6 sessions is usual. We would undertake regular reviews to ensure our working together is meeting your needs.

As part of my service, I am also able to offer personal coaching and mentoring. I offer face to face meetings in the central Leeds area, as well as telephone and online meetings either via Skype, Facetime or e-mail.

Examples of the type of subjects that I work with are anxiety, depression, loss, relationship issues, illness, disability, sexuality and other life disrupting concerns.

My availability varies according to the day and I will work with you to try and meet your availability. I look forward to welcoming and working with you within my practice.

Training, qualifications & experience

Educated to Degree level, I gained my professional qualification through Leeds Beckett University and I have undertaken further training in Emotional Freedom Technique, Counselling for Depression, CBT, Transactional Analysis, Coaching and Mentoring.

I have acquired further skills through personal study and my professional working life which, in addition to my private practice, also includes work within NHS primary care mental health settings and within my work in the 3rd sector for BARCA and Yorkshire MESMAC.

Prior to my training as a counsellor, my career was based within local government and civil service roles.
