Andrew Duncan MBACP Registered, Dip Couns, MBA, PGCE
I am a fully qualified, experienced and caring practitioner. I work with an integrative counselling approach although I am trained as a psychodynamic psychotherapist having worked both privately, with MIND, Youth Emotional Support Services and The Dove Service that specialises in bereavement, loss and life-changing illnesses.
I have studied various approaches to enable me to adapt to fit the needs of each individual client. I consider the relationship between the counsellor and client is absolutely crucial if we are to work together to explore those issues currently impacting on your life, therefore I will provide you with a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and comfortable space and we will move forward at a pace with which you feel at ease.
It has been my experience that counselling and psychotherapy will help you to develop a deeper understanding of your self. Once this acceptance of your self has been gained, it is then that changes will occur.
You can be assured that I will respect your confidentiality and work ethically as a professional member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). These professional guidelines are available at www.bacp.co.uk. I attend regular continual professional development training, thus further enhancing my practice and the service I can offer you my client.
Don't worry if you can't travel to me, I am willing to meet at a location you would prefer within the High Peak area.
