Thank you for looking at my profile. Hopefully by reading this profile you will have a bit more of an idea about how I work and whether you would like to work with me, but please do get in touch with me if you have any further questions.
Essentially I work in a very down to earth way, collaborating with you as we work through any problems that you are experiencing at the moment.
I offer counselling in Calne & Chippenham, Wiltshire. I can provide you with a confidential safe space to explore any issues that you feel may be affecting you, whilst you gain understanding and healing as you move forwards.
I work in an existential and humanistic way, which means that I come from a place of believing that any issues you are currently facing can affect your whole existence. I work in a way that respects your freedom and choice and focuses on how you are feeling in the here and now, whilst also understanding that the past and future are a part of your existence.
Existential therapy has its roots in ancient philosophy where men and women wrestled with the meaning of life, and there may well be a bit of that in our sessions together. The sessions will be focused on your goals for therapy and how you can reach those.
I have a particular interest in spirituality and feminist issues, as well as experience in working with clients struggling with relationship and identity issues. I specialise in working with clients who want to explore their gender identity.
I see clients in a beautiful countryside location near Cherhill just outside Calne. In a summer house overlooking large green spaces, this is a beautiful location to come and get some support as you work through anything troubling you.
I also see clients in Chippenham in a town centre location.

I charge £40 per 60 minute session. However I have two low fee places available to those who may need that extra bit of support but are on a low income. I know how hard it can be to find extra money left over for something like counselling, and I've also experienced how beneficial counselling can be, so I want to be able to offer you the best opportunity to talk with an experienced counsellor.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about payments.
No two counsellors work in the same way, so part of finding the right counsellor for you is finding the counsellor who works in a way that works for you. If you've never had counselling before it can be hard to know what to expect or what will work for you.
Broadly speaking, my approach comes under the umbrella of humanistic therapy. This means that most of the work we do will be focused on how your issues affect you in the here and now, and offers a great respect to your choice and freedom.
Each session is different and doesn’t follow a set pattern. You will be in control of what is talked about and what you want to focus on. I may make suggestions, or perhaps point out the things that I notice or wonder about, and together we will explore the meaning that these things have for you.
Humour can be vitally important in therapy and often makes a respectful appearance in sessions.
Our first session will be spent exploring your goals for therapy and filling out some paper work. During this session we will hopefully get an idea about whether we can work together, and schedule in future sessions.
