Life is full of ups and downs, stresses and difficulties. You may feel that you are struggling with an issue, stuck in the same old rut or disconnected from who you are or used to be. It can be hard to make decisions, move forward and take control alone, however with the help of a counsellor a problem shared really can be a problem halved. I began my counselling career having gone through a bereavement of a loved one and finding that offloading and talking to someone can be the best cure to learn to face life without them.
For the last few years I have worked with people from many different walks of life who have brought many different issues into the therapy room and together through face to face support we have worked towards growth, opportunities and inner calm.
I have been privileged to work within the specialist area of Bereavement counselling but have also worked within areas including, but not limited to, Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem, Depression, Bullying, Work-related Stress, Disabilities and Terminal Illness.
My therapeutic approach is Person-Centred which means that I work with a genuine, open and wholly accepting attitude to you and your wellbeing. I aim to create a relaxed and comfortable environment where we meet as equals. Together, we will explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours and help you to make sense of them, adapt them into your life or make changes to them if you so wish.
I want you to have the time and space that you need. Therefore, unlike many counselling services, I do not offer a set number of sessions as I see this as limiting your potential for growth. I work with you until you feel that our work is done.
My therapy room is based in Portwood, very close to Stockport Town Centre. Free Parking available. I also rent a room in Manchester City Centre.
If you have any questions, please get in touch via the Email link at the bottom of the page. I look forward to hearing from you.
