My aim is to help clients foster an inner resilience to live life more fully and truthfully. I provide a safe space where all feelings and thoughts can be voiced, sensitively heard, explored and made sense of. I view the therapeutic relationship as collaborative, working together to understand individual feelings that cause pain and dissatisfaction.
My personal experiences have taught me much about mental difficulties. My own journey has shown me that talking therapy can bring about meaningful change and healing. These experiences mean that I work from a place of non-judgement, compassion and humility. Psychotherapy I believe is an opportunity for personal growth, it can build a capacity from which to live life as a more integrated, authentic and satisfied individual.
Training, qualifications & experience
Professionally, I hold an MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and a Cert.HE Counselling and Organisational Dynamics, from Birkbeck, University of London. I have worked and volunteered at several mental health organisations and have dealt with a broad spectrum of mental illness.
Prior to retraining in psychotherapy I worked for a global technology company. This gave me insight into the pressures of corporate culture and the personal difficulties that can arise within group dynamics. That experience and my qualification (to MSc) in organisational dynamics, provide me with a deep understanding of the work related issues that people may bring to therapy.
