About me

Hello and welcome

My name is Amita and I'm a qualified and registered Psychotherapist with 17 year's experience in the field of mental health with practices in the City of London, Marylebone and Ruislip. I work with individuals and couples with a wide variety of issues, I offer sessions face to face as well as online.

I have trained and studied in different types of approaches, offering a specialised approach to therapy depending on the clients needs- which is key as everyone envolves and works differently. My goal is to help you understand how you are dealing with present or past issues. Listening is just the first step, I then provide practical coping skills to adapt to your everyday life. My unique style not only allows you to talk and explore openly but to put into practice the tools and techniques that we work through in therapy, allowing you to move forward and change.

I work with you at your pace; by achieving the results, developing realistic personal goals and providing the right tools helping you to grow and put the control back in your hands.

Why counselling?

  • At any time, anyone of us can suffer from depression, anxiety, stress, relationship problems or unresolved issues. Your body knows when you're keeping emotions bottled up, it speaks in the language of physical symptoms – panic attacks, tiredness, lack of concentration or focus, and poor sleep. All of these get in the way of you going about your daily life with purpose and energy, nothing is more exhausting than battling with overwhelming feelings and thoughts on a daily basis and not knowing what to do.

Counselling/Psychotherapy can be an extremely powerful tool for self-development and growth, in helping us understand more about ourselves or difficult and challenging relationships or situations, both past and present. By working together you can become the person you want to be and develop to your full potential both personally or professionally.

I always offer a free 15 min consultation on the phone before you make the initial booking.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Amita

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
