About me

When it comes to conflict or emotions, it isn’t always easy to talk about the issues which are troubling us, especially if they are deep-rooted or longstanding. But often there is a realisation that we need some extra help and support.

I'm passionate about helping people to resolve the challenges that they may be dealing with or issues which are troubling them. Everyone is unique and I approach each situation with sensitive pacing. I respond compassionately and pay attention to the ways in which different life experiences shape us all.

We will work together to talk through the underlying causes of emotions, feelings or pain you may be experiencing in daily life, bringing you a greater sense of wellbeing and overall happiness.

I work both nationally and internationally via FaceTime or Skype as well as in person when conditions allow, and sometimes a blend of the two.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a professional psychotherapist and counsellor with over 20 years of therapy experience helping a wide range of people. Over the course of my career I have spent over 25 years advising and supporting people on a broad range of health and wellness issues.

My key qualifications include:

  • Masters Degree (M.A.) in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy - Middlesex University
  • Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (DipHip) - Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling

Professionally registered:

  • UK Council for Psychotherapy

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

A Testimonial

Work as a therapist is many things. I feel privileged to listen to peoples stories and help them; it is also sometimes a demanding and very rewarding job. I wanted to share with you a moving and recent testimonial that a client who has finished working with me sent:-

"It was reassuring to know there was someone out there in times of despair. Amanda was a turning point in my life, just when I needed it. Her attention, care and support helped me turn a corner I would not have found without her intervention. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Amanda's services to anyone, she understood and dealt with the ultimate emotional situation I went through which makes me believe there is no one she would not be able to help".
