Thank you for viewing my profile; I do hope this will give you a sense of me and how I work? As I can fully appreciate how trying to seek after the right therapist can feel like a daunting process and may create some feelings of anxiety, this is very normal.
I am a qualified counsellor working in the Birmingham area. I am currently working within a GP Surgery, in assisting with providing a therapy service. Furthermore, I also provide a therapy service within private practice. I have: Professional Indemnity Insurance.
I have valuable experience of working with clients from a wide range of ethnic and cultural diversities.
I have experience of working with a wide range of client sensitive and presenting issues.
I believe in the importance of building and facilitating a therapeutic counselling relationship, this comes from me working from a: Person Centred Approach. My aim is to provide you a safe and confidential environment for you to express your presenting issues and difficulties. I will listen to you carefully and aim to understand your world with empathy and sensitivity. I will not judge you. I will explore your challenges and how it's impacting upon you. We can work together in exploring possible solutions and in supporting you in the decision that you may make. I do incorporate techniques when appropriate from other counselling approaches such as: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Gestalt. I believe this can be beneficial to our working together. As a reflective counsellor; my aim to maintain awareness when considering how to employ each technique in a person centred way of working.
I can provide short-term therapy or long-term Psychotherapy, as individual needs are different. It very much depends on your presenting issues and how much work you want to do on them.
I'm just a phone call away, so please do not hesitate in contacting me if you have any questions?
If I don't answer your call, then your most welcome to leave me a voice message with your name and contact details and I will return your call.
* Please note I do not accept calls where the telephone number is withheld.
