About me

I provide a counselling and psychotherapy service for individual clients,18 years old and over. I offer appointments Monday to Friday until 9pm and on a Saturday until 6pm. This allows me to offer you appointments at times that are convenient for most people.
I have been providing counselling since 2004 in both the voluntary and private sector. I opened this full time practice in 2007 when I returned to Scotland from London.

I specialise in working with individual clients wanting therapy for:

  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Depression
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Emotional impact of living with epilepsy
  • Men's Issues.
  • Personal Development
  • Relationship issues
  • Sexuality
  • Stress

At your initial session you will have the chance to have a full 50 minute session at which you can talk about what has made you look for counselling/support. It will additionally give you the chance to decide if counselling is for you, whether I am the counsellor for you and ask any questions that you may have.

Counselling provides you the time, space and support from me to talk about whatever is feel is a problem for you and explore the choices available to you and I provide support to you in order to find a different way of life that works for you. Counselling is not an advice service.

My practice attracts a large number of men alongside women. The number of men coming for counselling is growing rapidly and I am proud to support it's growth. Clients of all genders, sexualities, faiths or none, cultures, nationalities are welcome..

I have extensive specialised training and experience working with clients of sexuality and gender diversities from an affirmative perspective.

I am happy to discuss seeing clients on weekly or fortnight basis. I work on a short term or long term basis with clients.I work on a short term or long term basis with clients.

I hold a PVG certificate from Disclosure Scotland.

"I underwent therapy for a number of long term difficulties with Allister, including anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties. Allister provided a safe, trusting environment where I could explore these issues.  Allister helped me make choices that lead to personal growth and long lasting change as I have become able to deal much better with my difficulties. A huge thank you to Allister ! I.M., Glasgow".
