Allison McGuinness, BA (Hons), Dip. (HE) Couns., MBACP
Profile
I am an experienced counsellor, based in Carlisle, offering a friendly, confidential and professional counselling service to individual clients and couples. My aim as your counsellor is to provide a non-judgmental, supportive and confidential space in which you can feel accepted and understood.
I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues including anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, self-esteem and confidence issues as well as abuse and trauma.
The counselling approach I use is called Person Centred, which means I won't be analysing you or asking you to talk about things you don't want to. Instead I will be working hard to help you gain new understanding and insight into areas of your life that you may be experiencing difficulty with. This can help in enabling you to find answers, make decisions, or gain some clarity about how you are feeling.
I am able to offer appointments from therapy rooms in Stanwix or near Dalston Road in Carlisle. Both locations offer quiet, confidential, counselling rooms a few minutes from the centre of Carlisle, with access to free on-street parking outside.
